PROSPEX 1968 HERITAGE DIVER’S WATCH
The prized timepiece that firmly established Seiko as a leader in sports watch excellence, the highly functional, rugged and masterfully designed 1968 Diver’s Watch is now perfected for today. Extraordinary timepieces showcase Seiko’s first mechanical GMT movement for a diver’s watch — caliber 6R54, offering a power reserve of approximately 72 hours, the longest of any Seiko mechanical watch. Framed by a Made-in-Japan ceramic uni-directional rotating elapsed timing bezel, with knurled edge for enhanced operability, each richly finished dial includes a bold GMT hand that can be set independently in one-hour increments to track a second time zone at a glance.
TAILORED FOR TODAY
While staying true to the design concept of the original timepiece, Seiko has updated the revolutionary 1968 Diver’s Watch with more tailored and contemporary lines. Limited Editions offer intricately patterned dials and special elements such as Seichu fabric straps, made in Japan with superior flexibility, braided with a traditional technique making it strong and durable enough for diving.
DESIGNED FOR THE DEEP BLUE
Featuring both models equipped with hand-assembled 8L automatic movements and 6R automatic movements with a power reserve up to 72 hours, the new collections based on the iconic 1968 design follow ISO standards for diver’s watches. Streamlined and updated for the most intrepid divers, a new series with dial patterns reminiscent of magnificent cave formations are inspired by the dangerous, yet compelling, world of underwater cave diving. These new introductions offer special features designed to enhance safety such as deeper knurling on both the bezel edge and the screwdown crown for ease of use and LumiBrite in a different color on the minute hand and the bezel to aid in reading the critical elapsed time measurement.
